Great... but it wont hold up...  
we love Playmobil and we have many of their sets.
When we purchased this it was clearly a favorite for many months.
However long-term use by my son who is now 5 the doors do not stay on. I tried everything short of duct taping it back together. I finally pitched it in the garbage lo and behold my son went and got it out of the trash. He likes it that much theres just no way to keep the toys inside.
They really could have made this much more durable. It would be a 5 star toy if the quality were greatly improved. : 2010-09-15 08:53:11

Hours of fun for two boys 5 and 3!  
My two boys love this toy. Theres a little assembly but I love the detail! My 3 year old loves anything pirates and he had so much fun discovering each new trinket that comes with the chest.

The chest opens up on both sides to reveal more landscapes for your pirate. Theres a boardwalk some trees a treasure chest with coins (the coins are almost all disappeared already but thats my boys) 3 pirates with interchangeable accessories and more!

Whats great is that when its time to clean up the kids just have to put everything in the treasure chest and close it back up again! : 2010-09-15 08:53:11

Fun toy!  
I purchased this pirate take-along chest for my sons 3rd birthday. Hes a little young for it but he always wants to get into his sisters dollhouse so I thought he might enjoy having a "small world" toy of his own. He loves it! Having just turned 3 his attention span is pretty short but he was engaged with this set for an hour this morning. He loves all the little pieces (especially the treasure chest full of tiny coins) and the cannon that actually shoots cannon balls. Its those kind of extras that make this toy special- there is also a booby trap and a hidey hole- prefect for make believe play. We had fun pretenting the monkey was hiding the treasure in different spots and then helping the pirates find it. I know this toy will age up with him very well. The trick is to keep up with all the pieces! I made a big deal of being sure we cleaned it all up right away and put all the tiny bits into a zip-lock bag.
